Major Daley has been a re-enactor since 1988. He began reenacting as a private in the 173rd New York Volunteer Infantry and was a member of the 1st United States Infantry.  He also served as Sergeant Major of the Frontier Brigade.

He has been involved with Quartermaster duties since the 1994 Red River Campaign, where he was both Assistant Quartermaster and Commissary. He was appointed the first Quartermaster of the Frontier Brigade in 1997 and acted in that capacity until 2001. Major Daley served as Army Quartermaster for the 1997 Shiloh event and as Acting Division Quartermaster for the Vicksburg II campaign. He has been Division Quartermaster since 2001.

The Quartermaster reports to the Division Chief of Staff and his duty is the supply and quartering of the army. The chief functions are to supply the troops with water, straw, hay, and fuel. When practicable the Quartermaster provides transport for supplies and food necessary to sustain the army. The selection and maintenance of camp are important Quartermaster duties, as are the planning for sinks, ice and other needs of the troops.
