Mark has been enacting since 1991 and is a veteran of many West Coast and National campaigns. Locally, he has been a unit member of the 79th NY, 3rd U.S. Artillery, and the 7th Virginia (Union). Nationally, he has served in the U.S. Volunteers, Sherman’s Brigade, and in the Army of the Pacific. Having experience in the Infantry, in the Mounted Artillery as a team driver, and on various Staffs, Mark has served in every capacity from private soldier to non-commissioned and commissioned officer. He has served as the Chief of Staff for the Union Brigade of the National Civil War Association, on the staff of the Army of the Pacific under Col. Dom Dal Bello, and most recently as the Assistant Inspector General of the First Federal Division under Gen. Mark Dolive. At home events, Mark currently portrays an authentic period living history sutler and dispenses dry goods and sundries as a partner in the H & S Sutlery.
The Chief of Staff is the Head of the General Staff, and serves as the Commanding General’s right hand man. He is responsible for the Administration and Organization of the Division, as well as serving as an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors.
Mark's personal interests and expertise in the hobby include researching period drill/tactics, developing army staff and military organization, and continuing to improve personal authenticity and impression.
Mark currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area, and looks forward to serving the Division!
