The First Federal Division is a joint venture between the Western Brigade, the Frontier Brigade, the Army of the Pacific, the Army of the Ohio, the Cavalry Brigade, and the Lightning Brigade. The First Federal Division provides a field commander and a headquarters staff for these six organizations at regional and national events.
The First Federal Division plans and executes a long-range calendar for National Level reenactments in the West, assuming a leadership role for successful reenacting campaigns.
Criteria for for First Federal Division event selection include:
Location and date
Available ground (in acres): minimum for regional 300. Maximum 700.
Logistics including hay, water, straw, portalets, parking camping facilities.
Ingress and egress to property
Sources of financial support
Availability of local business and community support
Portion of proceeds that will go to preservation
Emergency medical plans

Organizations outside the First Federal Division, which portray Federal troops, will be welcome to attend and participate, subject to our expectations of cooperation.
Independent infantry battalions of 60 muskets or more are welcome to discuss direct affiliation with the Division. Contact Col. Michael Zimmer, Chief of Staff (see Contact page for email address). Decisions regarding formal affiliation rest with the Board of Directors of the First Federal Division.
